Analysis and Design
BEAMD will analyze and design just about any section of a single-span or continuous beam subject to a wide range of loading conditions. Standard load case combinations are generated automatically to meet code requirements. The resultant bending moment envelope may be automatically adjusted for redistribution within specified limits.
In addition to the standard beams, the program can handle special cases, such as:
- Tapered, stepped or haunched beams.
- Beams with elastic supports.
- Settlement of supports.
- Torsion (eccentric loads).
- Seismic and wind loads
The program automatically designs the links (stirrups) with variable spacing allowing for shear reduction at the supports.
The program calculates the immediate and the long term deflections accounting for a cracked section, based on the reinforcement area in the beam.
